So, my mom just finished reading my book now she's hanging. You will have to read for yourself to find out what I mean. She said I should give more background on the characters to develop them more. That is what is blog is for. So, let's start with the main character Empress Chun-Li Xi'ang.
She was born in the country of Zohi, which is on the continent of Igo, in the 2188. She was delightful young girl. Her parents, Dong Ch'an and Y'an, were in their 60's (which would 30 something on Earth) when she was born. That is usually around the time that Xionians stop having children. They tired many years to have children and had many miscarriages, Xi'ang was their first and only child. They loved her very much.
Xi'ang was a straight A student all through school. When she was in her first year of Level 5 (Grade 9) the wars started. Her father was a member of the Ground Militia in Zohi and was ordered to the front lines. Her mother a nurse and was called work longer hours. This left the young Xi'ang alone to look after herself. It was during the second year of Level 5 (Grade 10) that the hospital where her mom worked was bombed. During the clean up after the bombing her mother was found dead in the debris. A couple days later she got word that her father had been killed in the line of duty. It was the wish of her parents that she be placed in the care of their good friends if anything ever happened to them. So, at the age of 16 she moved in with the Chun-Li family and finished school. She spend a lot of time their son, K'wan, and they started dating during their last year of Level 5 (Grade 12). She graduated top of class and was named Valedictorian.
She started to attend college but dropped out during the middle of the first term for personal reasons. This was around the year 2205. It was during this time that her passion for peace and end to the wars was born, fueled by the death of her parents. She found a group of young people that shared her passion for peace. They named her as their leader and the Xionian underground (the Hydra's) was born. That was her passion for peace, and everything else for that matter, that made K'wan fall in love with her even more. They were married in 2206. Other members of this group let came to know Xi'ang as a friend were Ashlie M'xim, son of Ashli J'leb the Xionian President at the time, and Sun Lu'fia, daughter of the Zohi Governor.
After a year of many small scrimmages and rallies the Hydra's of Zohi gathered at the Capital Building in Cakaha and took control of the Xionian news station. Xi'ang stood up at the gathering a gave speech on war and peace and within a few days the wars ended. She was 19 and 3 months pregnant. Shortly after she named as leader of the Xionian Military and later became Empress of Xion.

A Little about the Xionians

Well, what more is there to say, they are human. The only real difference between them and us is that they age differently. For example, an eighty year old Xionian would only appear to be about forty. The HF (Hydro Force) members all wear similar uniforms with each branch a different colour. Green for the Ground Militia, Blue for Water Militia, Gold for Air Militia and Red for the Star Brigade. The Empress' uniform is royal purple and white. She has a cape over her right shoulder. Her hair is usually in a bun. Her skin is dark, like the Asian people on Earth. She truly cares for and listens to the people she rules.

A little more about Xion.
Well, you now where Xion is, roughly, in location to Earth. But what kind of planet is it. It is much like Earth. Xion would be classified as a tropical world. There are seven continents the largest of which is Igo in the east. Igimo is located south east of Igo and is also a country. As you travel north west from Igo you come to the continent of Ukafu, the smallest of the seven, attached to Igo by a small land bridge. Stretching south of Igo, attached by another land bridge, is the continent of Iwkozi. In the west is Ilukozi in the North and Zihiyi in the south divided by a river. In the south this the only uninhabited continent, a least after the wars, in Ozu. Here is a map of Xion, continents only, as it would appear in this story.

Intro to Characters

This is an older post, from my other blog, revised a little.
I would, at this time, like to tell a little bit about the characters in the book. Not all of them because so them are mention once and never again.
In brackets is the way the name is pronounced.
In order of appearance we have:
1) Baynes - this fun loving little guy starts out as the narrator or story teller but later enters the story with a much different role. He also provides most of the comic relief.
2) Vice Ashlie M'xim (Ashley Maxim) - M'xim is second in command of HF and makes a few appearances in the book but does not play a major role until book 2.
3) Empress Chun-Li Xi'ang (Choon-Lee Zjang) - The leader of HF, ruler of Xion and the focal point for this book. I will go into more detail about her later.
4) Supreme Chancellor Samul C'hrls (Samool Charles) - Leader of the Star Brigade. Not much more to say.
5) Count Jonson B'rice (Jonson Brice) - Leader of the Ground Militia and a trusted friend of Empress Chun-Li.
6) General Quasi Pi'nel (Quasee Penel) - Second in command of Ground Militia.
7) Marquis Torpedo J'onas (Torpedo Jonas) - Leader of the Water Militia.
8) Duke Johnston Ace - Leader of the Air Militia.
9) Ensign Snith Br'tne (Snith Britney) - Empress Chun-Li's personal assistance. Many appearances but only a minor role.
10) Chancellor McLeod S'mul (McLeod Samul) - Second in command of Star Brigade.
11) Admiral Wei Zh'ong (Way Zjong)- Top Admiral in Star Brigade. Commander of Space Dock. Close friend of Empress Chun-Li.
